Obeisance to the Supreme Lord
Thou abidest in all. Thou hast become all beings, Thou art the
all. Thou assumest all forms; all are from Thee; hence Thou art
the all, the soul of all. Glory unto Thee, the Self of all beings,
O my Lord Krishna.
27 Slokas
• A Karma-yogi is he, who maintains steady and positive
state of mind, engages himself in action on which he has the right
or adhikara to do, to the best of his ability but does not partake
the fruits of actions. The fruit of action should not be his motivation.
This ability is called 'Nishkama karma-yoga'. (2.47&2.50)
• Nature (Prakriti) with its three gunas (or energy and
power of nature) of sattva, rajas, and tamas prods one to engage
himself in action, but the person due to delusion of ego believes
himself to be the doer. (3.27)
• Do your duty dedicating all works/actions to Me in a
spiritual frame of mind-free from desire, attachment, and mental
grief, sins and bondages. (3.30)
• Raaga and Dvesha (likes and dislikes) for the sense objects
remain in the senses. One should not come under the control of
these two, because they are two (major) stumbling blocks, indeed,
on the path of self-realisation.(3.34)
• Thus, knowing the Atma to be superior to the intellect,
and controlling the mind, by the intellect (that is purified by
Jnana), one must kill his mighty enemy, Kama, O Arjuna. (3.43)
• The one, who sees inaction in action, and action in inaction,
is a wise person. Such a person is a yogi inspire of being fully
engaged in action. He has accomplished everything. (4.18)
• One who does all work as an offering to the Lord-abandoning
attachment to the results-is as untouched by sin (or karmic bondage)
as a lotus leaf is untouched by water. (5.10)
• A person whose mind is unattached to sensual pleasures,
who discovers the joy of Brahma, and whose mind is in union with
Brahma through contemplation, enjoys eternal bliss. (5.21)
• Hold the waist, spine, chest, neck, and head erect, motionless
and steady, fix the eyes and the mind steadily on the tip of the
nose, and do not look around (6.13)
• In whichever direction, the unsteady mind strays; it
should be brought back to one's inner self. (6.26)
• One who sees me in every thing and everywhere and sees
everyone in Him, He never abandons him nor does He go away from
him. (6.30)
• At the end moment of life, whatever object, because of
the constant thought or association, one remembers, he achieves
it. Therefore always remember Me and do your duty. You shall certainly
attain Me if your mind and intellect are fixed on Me. (8.05-8.07)
• I Myself take care of the comforts and welfare of those
selfless yogis and devotees who always remember, worship and meditate
on Me. (9.22)
• I accept leaves, fruits, or water offered to me with
faith and devotion, by devotees, whose mind is pure, (9.26)
• While doing something, eating, whatever you offer to
fire as oblation, giving charity, or doing penance, always think
that you are dedicating everything to Me. (9.27)
• Fix your mind on Me, be devoted to Me, worship Me and
bow down to Me. Thus uniting yourself with Me, and setting Me
as your supreme goal and sole refuge, you shall certainly realize
(or come to) Me. (9.34)
• I am the origin and the sole cause of the creation of
the whole universe. Everything emanates from Me. Understanding
this, the wise people worship Me with love and devotion, since
they know that because of Me, there is a movement in the world.

• Only the one, who believes that I am his doer and I make
him do his actions, regards Me as the highest of all, and depends
on Me, who is my devotee and who has no attachment or malevolence
towards any being, attains Me by his matchless devotion, O Arjuna.
(11.55)
• Focus your mind on Me, and let your intellect dwell upon
Me alone (through meditation and contemplation). By doing that,
you would undoubtedly begin to reside Me, and shall certainly
attain Me. (12.08)
• The one who sees the same Eternal, Supreme Lord (Atma)
dwelling equally within all perishable beings, has acquired knowledge
and truly sees. (13.27)
• I am seated in the hearts of all beings. Because of my
presence, the beings remember, recognise, think, analyse and question.
I am verily that which is to be known through (by the study of)
all the Vedas. I am indeed, the author of the Vedanta and the
knower of the Vedas. (15.15)
• By devotion one truly uderstands what and who I am in
essence. Having known Me in essence, one immediately merges into
Me. (18.55)
• The Lord (Ishvara) abides in the heart of all beings
and causes all beings to act and perform their karmas and revolves
them by His power of Maya as someone revolving a machine. (18.61)
• Fix your mind on Me, be devoted to Me, offer service
to Me, bow down to Me, and you shall certainly reach Me. I promise
you because you are very dear to Me. (18.65)
• Setting aside all Dharma, just surrender completely to
My will (with firm faith and loving contemplation). I shall liberate
you from all sins (or the bonds of karma). Do not grieve. (18.66)
• The one who shall propagate this supreme secret philosophy
(or the transcendental knowledge of Gita) amongst My devotees,
shall be performing the highest devotional service to Me, and
shall certainly (attain Parama Dhaam and) come to Me. (18.68)
